Gore-Tex Transalpine-Run

Trail Running in the AlpsThis Autumn, myself and team mate, high performance dietitian, Rebecca Dent are planning to take part in the Trans Alps Run, one of the greatest challenges for mountain and trail runners.

The route for 2015 will be 268k and 16.310 meters of vertical climb through 3 counties, crossing mountain passes and beautiful valleys along the main Alpine ridge.

Rebecca is well known for providing world class nutrition advise to the adventure industry and its athletes. She approached me earlier this year to see if I’d be interested in being her partner for the 8 day event. Her proposal was we would ‘walk the talk’ …. and be the ‘guinea pigs,’ enabling her to provide the best possible advise on nutrition for women during training, the race itself and in the recovery phase.

Both Rebecca and I will be blogging, tweeting and filming our experience of the race and using nutritional products provided by nutrition and supplement companies.

And as ever, I will also be showing how its possible to be just an ‘average person’ taking part in these events!
