Ski Touring in Georgia

I’m just back from a ski touring trip to Georgia and it was a great few days of stunning landscapes, lovely people, amazing food- all super cheap… and, of course, fantastic guides.

So it was much to my horror when a video was shared with me on Facebook of the recent ski lift incident  ( yes I called it in to work)

I’d been on that very lift not a month ago!

I really hope this doesn’t put people off visiting Gudauri…. or maybe just do what we did and   ‘earn your turns…’ (sorry very annoying phrase 😉 )

Here is a taster of one of the tours:

We toured most days apart from the first where we used the lifts, skinned for just 50m and had access to miles and miles of off piste.

Thanks very much to Arc’teryx for the Airah Jacket for female ski tourers, which definitely removed the need for constant layer shuffling! Waterproof and breathable too!

And thanks to Panda Optics for their new Cobalt magnetic goggles which are great in pretty much any light condition, saving you having to switch time and time again – and also look good with their mirrored ( mine were hot pink) and frame-less lens!
