Getting a helping hand….

I am so so proud to have actually have made it from Ramsgate to London for the Tirol Cycle teams Ramsgate to London leg of their charity cycle ride. The absolute highlight was the euphoric welcome in London’s Tower Hill – the day before the Olympic opening ceremony.

We had covered over 125km – minuscule compared to the epic ride of 1300km across Europe. The Tirol team had begun their journey last Thursday, beneath the Olympic rings at Innsbruck’s Bergisel stadium, to raise money for British charity Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK).With donations still being counted and received – the total is currently over £15,000

As I mentioned before- I am not a strong cyclist so you can find out here how I got through the challenge in my blog forPlanetSKI and SportSister.

video of the ride was also filmed and really captured the team spirit and euphoria at Tower Hill.

I was reunited with team mates BBC Ski Sunday presenter, Graham Bell and former ski racer, Konrad Bartelski at Austria House Tirol at Trinity House a few days later where a pair of skis where auctioned to raise more money for DSUK.

Donations can still be made at and here’s some more info on Disability Snowsport UK
